i was unpacking some boxes last night and came across some of my old notebooks. when i was in college, i stumbled across some pictures of collages that someone had made. i have no idea who or where, but they were just pages of pretty things stamped with a date stamp. this was so inspiring to me. i can remember waking up early before class and spending time on the internet browsing blogs and tumblr and we heart it and fffound for beautiful things and printing them out and gluing them in these notebooks and drinking cups and cups of coffee in the half dark of the early morning, trying not to wake up my boyfriend. as i looked through these notebooks last night, it amazed me how i still thought some of these things were so beautiful and how i smiled fondly remembering the feeling of seeing it for the first time. and i missed that. that time in my life was not that long ago, 2 maybe 3 years. i miss the feeling of making creating a priority, the feeling of being so inspired i couldn’t sleep, the feeling of needing to cut and glue and make things. i want to get back to that place. get out of the routine of being a ‘grown-up’- hitting snooze as many times as i can, rushing to get dressed and chugging a cup of coffee on my way to work then coming home drained and throwing dinner on a plate and being a zombie in front of the computer or tv. i need to change this routine i have that’s getting me through the day, but just that. i just need to make things.
